Fleming County Hospital Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programs Certified by Industry Leader
September 12, 2022Flemingsburg, KY (September 12, 2022) – Fleming County Hospital is proud to announce the certification of its Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). This certification is recognition of Fleming County Hospital’s commitment to improving the quality of life of patients by enhancing standards of care. Fleming County Hospital continues to build a reputation as an organization with a Culture of Safety, continuous quality improvement, patient-centered care, and professionalism, which has allowed it to maintain its accreditation with The Joint Commission, receive Chest Pain Accreditation through the American College of Cardiology, and achieve designation as a LifePoint Health National Quality Leader.
Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs are designed to help people with cardiovascular problems (e.g., heart attacks, coronary artery bypass graft surgery) and pulmonary problems (e.g., chronic obstructive pulmonary disease [COPD], respiratory symptoms) recover faster and live healthier. Both programs include exercise, education, counseling and support for patients and their families.
“This certification is an honor for Fleming County Hospital. This achievement recognizes our outstanding services and quality of care,” said Joe Koch, CEO and President. “We are proud of our exceptional Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation team and will continue to offer superior treatment to our patients.”
To earn accreditation, Fleming County Hospital’s Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs participated in an application process that requires extensive documentation of the program’s practices. AACVPR Program Certification is the only peer-review accreditation process designed to review individual programs for adherence to best practice standards and guidelines developed and published by AACVPR and other related professional societies. Each program’s application is reviewed by the AACVPR Program Certification Committee, and certification is awarded by the AACVPR Board of Directors.
“This achievement reflects the hard work and expertise of our staff at Fleming County Hospital, and I congratulate them on this honor,” said Lee Ann O’Bryan, Assistant Administrator for Fleming County Hospital. “This accomplishment proves our commitment to providing exceptional care to our patients.”
In 2018, AACVPR moved to an outcomes-based process with performance measurements that represent more meaningful outcomes. Therefore, AACVPR-certified programs are leaders in the cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation field because they offer the most advanced practices available and have proven track records of high-quality patient care. AACVPR Program Certification is valid for three years.
